Temporal trends in social security benefits for female breast cancer in Brazil

Abstract The aim of this study was to assess temporal trends in disability benefits for breast cancer awarded women by Brazil’s National Social Security Institute. We conducted a time-series analysis benefit incidence rates between 2007 and 2018 using joinpoint regression data from the Unified Benefits Information System (SUIBE) open access social security system database. age-adjusted rate increased 6.7% per year 2015 after period stability 2014. number granted aged 20-49 increased, on average, 3.4% year, showing marked rise (10.4% year). findings highlight that is an important cause sick leave among female workers disease growing younger economically active women, reinforcing importance early referral Professional Rehabilitation Program help return work readapt working life.
